Here at St. Andrew’s, students experience a lot of academic achievement. From making “High Honor Role” to winning Presidential Scholarships at universities, students are encouraged to foster an environment of gradual academic improvement and excellence. With all the good that comes with attending a prestigious academic institution, there will be times when students feel lost… It happens everywhere! So, the question becomes: What do students who have been able to perform considerably well in the past do when lost academically?
It was around mid-May of 2025, right in the middle of exam season. The weather was cloudy, wet, and a little cold. To me and everyone around me it literally felt like the world was going to end before summer break would arrive. For whatever reason, it felt like Freshman year again, waiting for my results for Mr. Mcwhorter’s Biology final.
It took a considerable amount of mental strength and effort for me to move past this point. The reason why is that I felt that I had let myself fall into this rabbit hole. I felt as if I was wasting my time worrying and being anxious, but at the same time I didn’t feel “comfortable” with myself. So I stopped… and thought on my bed for ten or fifteen minutes about my past exam seasons. Something every St. Andrew’s student can do. I had been successful in the past and that thought helped me get through the hard time. Even though I was pressured and stressed, I made it out ok knowing that I could do this anytime, anywhere, in any circumstance in my life.
