This school year, the St. Andrew’s Upper School campus welcomes new students, staff, and faculty along with an exciting new food service! Among these changes, we have a new teacher in the high school, Mrs. Kelly Hicks. She is the Upper School Physics teacher, succeeding Dr. Lamb who left St. Andrew’s at the end of last year.
Before coming to St. Andrews, “I worked at Germantown High School. I taught mostly Calculus and Physics.” Hicks said “Before that, I was an Engineer.” She worked at 3 different companies as an engineer, but switched to teaching and has been doing so for the past 13 years.
Outside of school, Hicks says she enjoys knitting, reading, being outdoors, and running. St. Andrew’s students talk highly of Hicks, giving great comments about her personality and class time with her. “I like her. Her class has been fun so far!” St. Andrew’s Sophomore Chloe Marion said, “She’s really nice.”
She also says that she has been enjoying her new move to St. Andrew’s. “I really like it! I really like the administration, they seem to be much more concerned with what they can do to help me than what I need to do. They let me do my job and I really appreciate that.” Hicks said, “The students are all great, students are students, you all are basically the same as kids at Germantown. So, I’ve really enjoyed it!”
