St. Andrew’s students always have events to look forward to during the school year, from Football games to dances and everything in between. While each student has their own preferences, some traditions seem to stand out as favorites.
For Cash Myrick, a Junior and a first-time football player, the fun starts right away. “My number one is the first pep rally, because I haven’t played football before, and I’m excited to walk out and just experience all of that,” Myrick said, “and then my second one is definitely prom. I’ve never been to prom before. My third thing is definitely homecoming this year. I get to go through all the themes throughout the week.”
Jade Yang, a Junior, agreed that the pep rally is one of the most exciting moments of the year, but she also looks forward to representing her team at another big event. “First, I’m excited for the first pep rally because I like to show school spirit,” Yang said. “Second, I’m excited for the Olympics, ’cause I want to represent my team, and third, I’m excited for prom, because it’s my first time going.”
For Morgan Lee, a Sophomore, the list of favorites mixes athletics with school traditions. “My top three things I’m excited for [are] Homecoming, the game, and the pep rally—all that whole weekend,” Lee said. “I’m excited for So Cheer going to state this year, so I’m excited for that for the first time. Then I’m also excited for Track season … I feel like that’s one of the most fun things happening at our school.”
Whether it’s the pep rally, Homecoming, Prom, or the big competitions, St. Andrew’s students all have something that keeps their school spirit alive. “I’m hyped to see what all the hype is about,” Myrick said.
