Science-fiction media is a lot of fun, but it’s also lied to us for most of our lives. All of these books, movies, and shows about fantastic inventions have just been giving us false hope about how fast humanity can progress. We may have mini-computers in our pockets and on our wrists every hour of the day, but time travel and instant teleportation still only exist in fictional universes. Our current level of technology is honestly wonderful and admirable, but how long are we going to keep fantasizing about light-saber battles and flying cars before those fantasies become our reality?
