The Lady Saints Soccer season ended in a hard-fought game against Sacred Heart in the 3A State Championship. For the past three years, the Lady Saints have lost to Sacred Heart in the playoffs but have never played each other at state until this year. The Lady Saints came into the game wanting revenge and wanted to end up with rings after the game.

“Before the game, I was slightly nervous because it had been a while since the team had beaten Sacred Heart, but I was confident in our strength as a team and was ready to play,” Senior Captain Julia Farley Collins said.

The Lady Saints went up 1-0 in the first five minutes of the game and held onto that lead until late in the second half. With the score being 1-1, they went into overtime where the Lady Saints fell short; however, the Lady Saints did not hang their heads and are looking forward to another historic season.

“I feel like the team has worked very hard this season, and it showed in how far we got in playoffs,” Junior Lindsay Moriarty said. “We did not get the outcome that we wanted, but I am really excited for the upcoming season to work even harder and do better.
