‘Twas the night before St. Joe, when all through the school
Not a creature was worried, not even a fool;
The playlists were made in the field house with care,
In hopes that all the students soon would be there;

The players were nestled all snug in their cleats,
While dreams of a win danced in their heart beats;
And coach in his blanket, and we in white jerseys,
Just started warm ups as the other team hurries,

When out on the field there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the sideline to see what’s the matter.
To the #halftime I flew like lights flashed,
With skills from the girls, the enemies got snatched.

The clock on the score board with no time to go
Showed St. Joe it was their fifth loss in a row,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
Looks of faces all around with a smile and tear,

Winning brings back memories, so happy and fast,
I knew in a moment it must be the last.
More rapid than eagles, the girls ran for hugs,
And with each sweet embrace, the heart strings, it tugs;

“Now, Phoebe! Now, Madeleine! Now, Sam and Ashley!
On, MR! On Alli! On, Kate, Jules, and Toni!
From the game’s first second to its final death!
This great rivalry has come to its last breath!”

For the seniors on this team, it’s time to say goodbye
To playing St. Joe girls at home for the last time.
So the girls snuggle in tight for a nice picture
With their aching muscles as their only stricture.
