On Thursday May 11, the SA football team held an intersquad scrimmage for the public. Led by first year head coach Johnny Nichols, the Saints look to comeback stronger than ever next season.

“It was pretty was LIT,” sophomore safety and receiver David DuCote said. “A lot of the guys played well and I’m excited to see how they perform next year.”

While the team isn’t as large as it has been in years past, the small core of upperclassmen bring great leadership to the team.

“The current juniors and sophomores have a lot of experience, which wiil really help the young team next year,” junior Wade Montjoy said.

This is the first time the SA football team has held a spring game. Head Coach Nichols brought the idea with him and it turned out to be a success.

“There was a pretty good turnout of fans that showed up,” Junior Dickson Ray said.

Hopefully the spring game continues to be a fun event for the team as well as students in the future.
