National Teacher Appreciation Week starts Mon. May 8 and ends Fri. May 12, meaning that it is right around the corner! Show your teachers a little kindness during our last week of real school to show them how much they have helped you over the course of this year. Our teachers do a lot from us, and they are forced to deal with teenage angst, immaturity, and disrespect day-in and day-out. Let them know that what they do is, in fact, worthwhile work. There’s no need to buy them anything fancy, all they need is a thank you (and a batch of brownies probably wouldn’t hurt either), but the point is that a little respect and flexibility on all of our parts will go a long way in making our teachers’ days at least a little bit more manageable. They’ve taught us all so much over the years, something that we will never be able to pay them back for in full, but in the spirit of Teacher Appreciation Week, we should all at least make an effort to show them that we are thankful.
